An Introduction & History
Hi, my name is David, and I was incredibly lucky to start attending Star Trek conventions when I was very young.
I was even at a convention when Star Trek: The Next Generation first aired in the UK.
Over the years, I have made many wonderful friends and fantastic contacts.
I’ve even run a couple of conventions and events myself, both independently and with friends.
I’ve also been consulted on multiple projects, exhibitions and conventions.
Whilst I am a very sociable person, I must confess that many of the contacts I made who worked on the shows were through my friendship with Richard Arnold, who was kind enough to introduce me to members of the cast and crew from various Star Trek series.
Because he knew I had a passion for Star Trek merchandise, he was also kind enough to introduce me to some of the marketing people at Paramount, Viacom and, later, those involved with the Las Vegas Experience.
As a result, I’ve acquired many fantastic items, either directly from the source or through auctions.
So, basically, I have built up a rather interesting collection of props, prototypes and fantastic merchandise over a lifetime of collecting.
I have also loaned pieces from my collection to a number of museums for exhibition.
Now it is time for a new chapter in my life. I’ve started Love Your Geek to help rehome most of my collection and to assist others in selling or passing on their collections.
