Welcome to Geekology!
Geekology – the study of and/or knowledge of geek culture, with a leaning towards Star Trek and Transformers.
Starting off in 2010 as Geekology: The Fanzine as created by Sven (not Seven) Harvey with much research going into the field (WATCH ALL THE TREK!) and input from one David Zabiela (not to be pronounced Zab-eeeee-ela at any point), when May 2013 made an appearance the switch to YouTube was in the offing. With the famous oral abilities of David sometimes letting Sven get a word in edgewise and harnessing the “discussions” he two had anyway, the Geekology YouTube channel launched, rather stiffly with the Kreo Rendition of the USS Enterprise from Star Trek Into Darkness <<puttup!>>.
The channel then built and went from weakness to weakness over a decade surviving CoVID 19 (just), major injuries and other trails and tribbles. Sven even survived the “shot your dog” review of at Transformers: Age of Extinction, and a laudable attempt to find the bright side of the 2014 RoboCop.
Review, discussion and a even an attempt at reactions, killed dead by us trying to watch 2005’s season of Doctor Who with the odd bit of classic Who ground to a halt. It dies so fast we didn’t get to Blink!
Geekology is more than just the YouTube channel, The fanzine lives on in a form as The ‘Zine, the official fanzine of Geekology, Spacedock Birmingham (our Star Trek club, which is a chapter of STARFLEET The International Association of Star Trek Fan Clubs at the time of writing), Autobase Birmingham and anything else we might try to do (*looks at small events in Brum*)
We hope you enjoy our content (don’t worry no OF he… oh.)
